Business System Analyst

The position of Business Systems Analyst has always been Dr. Sullivan’s first love in her long career in the IT industry. She began working as a Business Systems Analyst in 1993 and was immediately drawn to the challenge presented by this position. As a Business Systems Analyst, Dr. Sullivan conducts research to determine a company’s technological needs then makes recommendations for moving forward based on the results of her research. The challenge is finding that perfect balance of using the technology that is already in place in a company more efficiently while determining what updates are needed to ensure a smooth continuation of the operation. Many times, Dr. Sullivan has found it unnecessary to purchase new systems and software, the solution simply being, better training and familiarization of users on the current equipment. Dr. Sullivan strives to remain informed and educated in the latest advances in the IT field. Because of the rapidly changing face of today’s technology, Dr. Sullivan realizes how easy it is for the average user to fall behind in the skills and knowledge needed to stay abreast of the latest advancements. Her experience in the workplace gives her a unique advantage in having the ability to see the difference between lack of current technology and lack of properly trained personnel.

Security, cloud computing, virtualization, service-oriented architectures, mobile deployments, and ever-changing compliance requirements all strain the performance of information systems and the abilities of IT department or team.
