The Sullivan Farm
The Sullivan Farm is located on Walden’s Ridge outside of Dayton in Eastern Tennessee. The farm skirts the county line between Bledsoe and Rhea Counties and also the time zone line for Central and Eastern times. Walden’s Ridge is nestled between the Sequatchie and Tennessee Valleys while Nashville is to our west, Knoxville to our east, and Chattanooga to our south.
My daughter and I own 35 acres of the orginal family farm where we raise goats and grow crops. While many families are selling their farms and starting quaries on their places we are building fences and cleaning up over growth and planting crops.
<< A view of the farm taken from the knoll overlooking the place from the back. Fields just plowed.
The view shows the wheat field & beautiful colors that can be seen around the place in the fall. Below you see the fields covered in snow and the tree limbs with ice on them
Spectacular views of the old fish pond that is part of the orginal Sullivan farm and been there over 40 years. Many afternoons of fishing catfish and bass are remembered. Tina is looking at the pond on the right thru the over brush and cattails.
Tennessee flatrock is very hot in our area and many fields are being turned into quarries.
You see the rock is layered and very close to the surface and the layers run very deep.
